Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with strong PMP aspirations and a background in e-commerce and/or industries such as construction, travel & tourism, automobile, or retail. This individual will have a keen interest in growing into a Project Manager role, bringing a deep understanding of business processes, requirements gathering, and solution implementation. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, eager to transition into a project management capacity while leveraging business analysis expertise to drive successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Analysis:
- Gather and document business requirements from key stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Analyze and optimize business processes to identify opportunities for improvement and increased efficiency.
- Translate complex business needs into clear technical requirements, ensuring both technical and non-technical stakeholders have a shared understanding of project scope.
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT), ensuring that all deliverables meet business needs and quality standards.
- Prepare detailed business cases and help develop project scope and project timelines in collaboration with the project team.
- Conduct data analysis and provide actionable insights to guide project decisions and recommendations.
Transitioning to Project Management:
- Assist in the creation and management of project plans, including defining timelines, resource requirements, and deliverables.
- Support senior project managers in tracking project milestones, risks, and performance metrics to ensure timely project delivery.
- Take on project coordination duties, such as scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and tracking project deliverables.
- Gradually assume responsibility for project management tasks, including managing smaller projects or components of larger projects under the mentorship of senior project managers.
- Help identify and mitigate potential project risks and issues, providing recommendations for corrective action.
- Learn and apply PMP methodologies and principles in daily project management tasks.
E-commerce & Industry Expertise:
- Leverage experience in e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce) to inform business solutions and project direction.
- Apply knowledge of industries such as construction, travel & tourism, automobile, or retail to ensure that project solutions meet market demands and customer expectations.
- Collaborate with product and technical teams to implement e-commerce solutions that enhance the customer experience and drive business growth.
- Provide insights into emerging industry trends and ensure that project initiatives are aligned with business and market needs.
Skills & Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 6+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with an interest in transitioning into project management.
- PMP certification (or working towards certification) and strong foundational knowledge of project management processes and methodologies.
- Solid understanding of e-commerce platforms and tools, with direct experience working on or with e-commerce projects.
- Knowledge and experience working in one or more of the following industries: construction, travel & tourism, automobile, or retail.
- Proficiency in business analysis techniques, including requirements gathering, process mapping, and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into clear and actionable deliverables.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as Jira, Microsoft Project, Asana, or similar software.
- Analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems and drive process improvements.
Preferred:
- PMP certification (or currently working towards it).
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and familiarity with Agile project management tools.
- Exposure to project coordination or project management duties as part of previous roles.
- Familiarity with digital marketing, customer journey mapping, and e-commerce optimization.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, particularly in a project or product development setting.
- Knowledge of Cloud-based project management tools (e.g., Monday.com, Smartsheet) is a plus.
